Training Camp Update
Training camp has been so good and healing! There have definitely been hard moments, but overall, I have such a deep sense of peace. It’s becoming so clear that I’m walking in the fullness of God’s promises.
My team is great. We’ve had a lot of fun together, and I’m slowly building individual relationships with each person. Please pray that I would continue to be humble, willing to lean on my team, and that these relationships would continue to feel life-giving, even when they’re challenging. The Lord has shown up in such clear and beautiful ways!
There are also plenty of spiders to go around in Georgia. I’ve taken a few bucket showers, done laundry by hand, and have only used a porta potty for the past seven days—which has definitely been an experience!
Thursday was our Sabbath, and I had such an amazing, restful time with Jesus in the Word. It feels like I’m in such a rich season right now.
We’ve also had so many incredible teachings. Some of our sessions have focused on cultural differences, our identity in Christ, and the faithfulness of God. Everything has been so deeply rooted in Scripture, and honestly, it feels like I’m drinking from a firehose!
On Friday, we hiked Mount Yonah. It was definitely challenging with the heat and incline, but I had so much fun and had some really good conversations along the way.
One of the biggest testimonies from this season has been seeing God’s goodness in the way He has been healing me. During my last few months of teaching, I struggled with a lot of anxiety and felt like my faith had become very dry. But Jesus has shown up in such beautiful ways during this season and is teaching me that I don’t have to be afraid that I’ll return to that place again. He is faithful to redeem, restore, and use my story for His glory and my good.
And now it’s almost time! We fly to Rwanda tomorrow, Sunday, September 6! We’ll be staying in the capital city of Kigali and serving at a school there.
Thank you so much for praying, giving, encouraging me, and walking alongside me in this. I truly couldn’t do this without you. I’m so excited to see what God is going to do in Rwanda!
Please pray for our LONG travel day tomorrow as we set off as a squad for the first time. Pray the we would be patient with one other, aware of opportunities to share Jesus, and that we would make all out connecting flights.
I am expectant for life change both in me and in those we get to serve!!
With love and gratitude,
Hannah
